Environmental Services Technician maintains a safe, sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas. Duties include cleaning, waste management, infection control compliance, and equipment upkeep. The role provides a clean, sterile environment for patients/residents and staff, with responsibilities spanning patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and laundry areas where applicable.

• Empty waste baskets, sweep, scrub, wax, or polish floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing machines.
• Demonstrate housekeeping knowledge and apply techniques to support a clean, sterile environment.
• Wear proper protective equipment and maintain storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked and tidy.
• Use pagers and technology appropriately; assist in laundry areas as needed; access technology applications where available.
• Perform physical activities—including lifting up to 40–50 lbs, moving variable weight limits, climbing, lifting, stooping, twisting, squatting—while remaining on feet for the majority of the shift.
• Support overtime, call backup, nights, days, weekends, and holidays as patient/resident needs dictate.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and chemicals is helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
