The Life Enrichment Assistant will manage the overall planning, implementation, delivery, and coordination of resident activities at Peaceful Pines Senior Living. The Life Enrichment Assistant will assist in designing safe and effective programs to meet residents' personal health dimensions: physical, spiritual, social, mental, and intellectual. This role provides entertainment, relaxation, fulfillment, and improves daily living skills. The position works closely with the Life Enrichment Coordinator to establish a well‑rounded volunteer program.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Follow the monthly activity calendar, as established by the Life Enrichment Coordinator.
- Assist with posting daily activities and make personal contact to encourage participation.
- Maintain the appearance and schedule for activity areas.
- Assist in carrying out one‑to‑one resident engagement programs.
- Promote interaction between residents, families, schools, senior centers, and other community groups.
- Manage the volunteer program: recognize volunteers and train/supervise other activity assistants as directed.
- Orient new staff members regarding Life Enrichment activities and procedures.
- Conduct activity assessments for each resident and provide resident interest information to staff as required.
- Orient new residents to programs, other residents, and the community.
- Assist with transportation and drive community vehicles for activities and appointments as needed.
- Recognize resident birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
- Meet department standards for quality service.
- Must be physically present at the assigned work location during assigned hours.
- Regular and punctual attendance required.
- Drive community vehicles for resident outings and scenic drives.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Compassionate spirit, flexibility, and lively enthusiasm for working with the elderly.
- High level of effective and succinct communication, written and oral, with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the public.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Availability for evening hours and a weekend rotation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
