Housekeeper

Faulkton Area Medical Center is seeking applicants for an as-needed (PRN) Housekeeper to provide coverage based on facility needs. A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Previous housekeeping experience is preferred, but not required. Applicants must have a general knowledge of cleaning practices and a willingness to learn. Ability to work independently without direct supervision is required.

This as-needed position does not have a guaranteed number of hours. Shifts may include daytime or evening hours and may include weekend and holiday coverage in coordination with the housekeeping team. Essential duties include but are not limited to:

• Ability to perform a variety of housekeeping duties such as dusting, washing and disinfecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment; sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors; gathering and disposing of refuse; arranging furniture, stripping and making beds and performing similar tasks
• Maintain facility in a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition to provide a suitable environment for patient care and staff work
• Take ownership of assigned work which includes areas in the Hospital, Clinic, and grounds
• Follow directions and deal effectively with others

Physical demands include but are not limited to:

• Continuous standing and walking
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent pushing, bending, reaching, grasping, and fine manipulation
• Occasional squatting or kneeling

This position does not qualify for benefits. Compensation: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour Faulkton Area Medical Center is an independent, non-profit, 12-bed Critical Access Hospital and Rural Health Clinic. We are located along SD HWY 212 in Faulkton, SD serving a diverse population of 3,000 within a 60 mile radius. FAMC is one of the few independent hospitals left in the state of South Dakota.
