Job Summary
The Lead, Data Governance role sits in the SCB Financial Markets Data Technology team, is responsible for ensuring the compliance of Metadata standards defined under Organization’s Data Quality Management Standards (DQMS 2.0). This role focuses on collaborating closely with Data Domain Owners (DDOs) and Data Process Owners (DPOs) for accurate data transformations, reviewing data lineages from source to target, cleaning up of data quality exceptions that are hindering compliance to BCBS regulations to maintain reliable Metadata.
FM Data Technology team works closely with CDO team by providing tools and services to enable SCB to adhere to Regulatory requirements and align with SCB standards. - Responsible for initiating, monitoring, coordinating, and completing Data lineages from producer to end consumer.
- Responsible for creating lineages & controls, define and maintain Metadata of each Financial Markets platform.
- Responsible to coordinate with Data Domain Owners to validate and sign off data handshakes.
- Responsible for cleaning up data lineages, data controls, data transformations captured in Rosetta, an inhouse Metadata management tool for Financial Markets.
- Be an active member of the scrum team and responsible for coordinating, identifying and updating Metadata changes from the change management process in Rosetta.
- Responsible for Managing sprints, backlogs, and iteration planning to ensure successful delivery.
- Actively mitigating impediments that impact the successful completion of release/sprint goals.
- Communicate with stakeholders on plan and progress of user stories.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and guide various teams to ensure delivery meets requirements.
- Pro-actively engage, manage and build strong relationships with both business and technology stakeholders.
- Identify risks and impediments early, plan mitigating steps and communicate these to workstream lead and business stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Be delivery focused, committed to specific tasks and ensure these and the deadlines are met.
FM Data Technology

This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, elevate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in computer science or data science.
- 8-10 years of professional experience with at least 6 years of focus on Metadata management and Data Quality framework.
- Thorough knowledge of Metadata management, data models, and data management regulations & standards.
- Proficiency in understanding and working with Metadata management tools.
- Strong ability to analyze data lineages, data controls, interaction of Metadata among systems and data quality exception resolutions.
- Working knowledge of data policy & governance, data dictionaries, data quality governance, best practices for Metadata and data quality maintenance is desirable.
- Proven problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities, including teamwork and the capability to manage relationships with multi-cultural stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work across business streams and have exposure to front to back system implementation.
- Demonstrable experience of working with multiple teams across various locations.
- Experience in delivering projects using Agile methodology is preferred.
- Ability to work proactively, independently and displays strong initiative.
