We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Policy team at the University of Canberra. This is an exciting opportunity to provide independent, high-quality legal advice across a diverse range of areas, primarily specialising in commercial matters.
Key Responsibilities- Provide independent legal advice across commercial and strategic initiatives, including partnership and collaboration agreements, work integrated learning placements, procurement, contracts, and campus development matters.
- Support other legal areas as required, including research services, policy-related matters, administrative law, and disputes.
- Maintain strong relationships with key internal clients, ensuring high-quality, timely, and practical legal support.
- Demonstrated post‑admission experience, ideally with hands‑on experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and providing general commercial legal advice.
- Team player with the ability to work autonomously, taking ownership of matters, with the ability to seek guidance from and collaborate with senior members of the team.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to provide practical, strategic advice to support business outcomes.
