CNC Machinist; 2nd shift

Overview

Horton, Inc., a global airflow industry leader in reliability, service and innovation has an opening for a CNC Machinist to work in our Britton, SD location. This is a 2nd shift position and standard hours are Monday-Thursday from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with overtime, as needed. The pay starts at $26.95 per hour and there is a shift premium of $1.25 per hour for this shift.

CNC Machinist

Position Summary:

The CNC machinist sets up and operates machine tools within the work cell. Loads materials into machines and operates machine tools to produce finished parts that conform to proper dimensions, inspecting work and performing basic setting/adjusting of the machine to maintain products within specified tolerances.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:

• Changes settings or programs and tooling inserts in order to achieve the proper dimensions of finished parts.
• Assisting less experienced machinists with more complex or more difficult set‑ups.
• Operates one or more machine tools to produce high quality parts in an efficient manner.
• Performs daily and weekly routine machine maintenance.
• Moves between machines in the cell as directed by area manager.
• Sets up and operates machine tools within the work cell.
• As with everyone on the team, other duties may be assigned to support the overall success of the company.

CNC Machinist

Qualifications:

• Requires experience with Mills and/or Lathe work experience as CNC Machinist or a 2-year technical degree.
• Blueprint reading
• Communicate and work well and efficiently with others
• Basic computer
• Intermediate inspection and measurement
• Basic machine setup and operation
• Basic math
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.
