Solar Mechanical Installer

Gen Pro is focused on four major industry sectors, including energy-efficient lighting systems, solar-powered solutions, solar water pumping and filtration, and power generation.

Primary Function:

Gen Pro Energy Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Solar Mechanical Installer to assemble & install solar systems on roofs, other structures, ground mounts, and large solar fields in compliance with site assessments and schematics. The successful candidate will have proven experience in the construction of solar systems, racking components, as well as operating equipment such as a pile driver, skid steer, backhoe, boom lift, telehandler, excavator, and trencher.

Director of Construction

Pay Grade: $22.59 - $35.47 per hour (based on experience)

Essential Job Functions:
  • Properly locate & install piles according to construction design documents
  • Measure, cut, assemble, & bolt structural framing
  • Lay out & mount solar panels according to construction design documents
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment and construction class vehicles in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures
  • Loading and offloading rocks, debris. and other materials from heavy equipment
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers
  • Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner
  • Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse
  • Works as part of a team under strict deadlines
  • Must have a good understanding of job site safety procedures
  • Attend and participate in all on-site safety training
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Must be flexible with all job assignments
  • Must assist in all aspects of Solar & LED projects
  • Must possess a positive, team player attitude
  • Assist team to ensure job site is clean and organized at the end of the day
  • Wear required safety gear
    * Personal Protective Equipment
  • Report all accidents or injuries to the job Foreman
  • Capacity to provide and follow direction
  • Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
  • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job assignment and time of year
  • Job requires travel in multi-state region with extended overnight stays
  • Must be able to work at least 8 hours per day and overtime as necessary
Physical Demands and abilities:
  • Physically able to lift and move objects 10-50 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
  • Standing/walking for long periods
  • Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, climb, balance, lift or stretch
  • Climbing and descending stairs, ladders, & equipment
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
Skills and Other Characteristics:
  • Eye, hand, and foot coordination:
    Must coordinate movements of your hands and feet to guide very large machinery in tight places
  • Operation Monitoring:
    Must have the ability to read gauges, dials, and other indicators, and adjust them as necessary
  • Interpersonal skills and teamwork:
    Must be able to coordinate your actions with those of other workers on busy construction sites
  • Troubleshooting:
    Anyone operating heavy equipment should be able to detect and fix operating problems
  • Critical thinking:
    The job will require that you identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions to problems to choose the one that is most likely to be successful and cost-effective
  • Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses
  • Must be dependable
  • High level of integrity and work ethic
Experience:
  • Experience in renewable energy preferred
