Midwest Fire is seeking a technically driven and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to support the wiring, assembly, and integration of our custom-built fire apparatus. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about advanced vehicle multiplexing and Class 1 ES-Key programming.

Employment Type: Full-Time Position
Pay: $20.00 to $35.00 Depending on experience
Hours: Monday - Friday 7 am - 3:30 pm

Key Responsibilities- Perform complete 12V DC / AC wiring and harness routing for fire apparatus electrical systems
- Install and integrate lighting, switches, relays, breakers, diodes, solenoids, and accessories
- Wire and troubleshoot battery, charging, and grounding systems
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot Class 1 ES-Key multiplex systems (Super Node, CAN Bus, J1939, and associated components)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, logic diagrams, and chassis wiring documentation
- Collaborate with engineers and programmers to resolve communication and pinout issues
- Operate shop tools and equipment safely (forklifts, cranes, multimeters, etc.)
- Support continuous improvement by identifying and documenting wiring or programming best practices
- Assist with cross-functional production needs (plumbing, fabrication, etc.)
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in Electrical Systems, Automotive Technology, or Mechatronics preferred
- Vocational or field experience in automotive, emergency vehicle, or heavy-equipment electrical systems
- Proficient in 12V DC / AC wiring and circuit troubleshooting
- Experience with ES-Key, Power Vision, or IC Systems strongly preferred
- Knowledge of CAN Bus, J1939, and multiplex programming logic
- Ability to interpret schematics, service manuals, and safety documentation
- Skilled in the use of electrical diagnostic tools and hand/power tools
- Basic computer and programming literacy (CANalyzer, PCAN, or similar software a plus)
- Familiarity with PLC or other logic-based control systems (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) is a plus and beneficial for understanding multiplex programming structure
- Strong communication skills; able to work independently and as part of a team
