1st Shift Mold Setup Technician-D –

The Mold Setup Technician is responsible for molding parts in accordance with internal and external customer requirements, including machine setup, auxiliary equipment setup, and process parameter input. The role also includes maintaining a neat and orderly work area in line with 5S standards and adhering to safety policies. The position is classified into four levels (C, B, A, Supervisor/Foreman) with pay determined by skill and responsibility.

- Shift: 1st Shift 08:00 am – 04:00 pm
- Pay: $18.25 – $23.50 per hour (based on experience)

- Level C:
- Complete B‑level training curriculum.
- Perform mold setup and color changes to meet production demands.
- Set molding process parameters with assistance from a foreman, supervisor, or higher‑level technician.
- Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency; work with quality inspectors to identify defects.
- Perform material‑handler duties as assigned.
- Level B:
- Complete A‑level training curriculum.
- Set molding process parameters to ensure part quality.
- Troubleshoot process, machine, and auxiliary equipment problems and make necessary changes to reduce downtime.
- Learn new technology as it is introduced.
- Work with supervisor or lead technician to improve productivity and reduce scrap and defects.
- Level A:
- Work with quality inspectors to identify defects and make decisions regarding process changes.
- Sample new and existing molds.
- Stay current with new technology in molding, auxiliary equipment, robots, etc.
- Promote safety by abiding by all related policies and procedures and set a good example.
- Assist with 5S and cleanliness maintenance.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of a foreman or supervisor.
- All team members also:
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting well with customers, clients, co‑workers and management.
- Continuously grow job‑specific knowledge and apply tools for continuous improvement.
- Comply with safety regulations and keep the workplace clean and orderly.
- Stand or walk most of the shift.
- Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and climb machinery with proper fall protection.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift up to 75 lbs or more.
- Occasionally lift above shoulder or waist up to 75 lbs.
- Perform hand, wrist, finger, and foot movements for pedal controls on forklifts.
- Occasionally perform keyboarding and squeezing movements.
- Frequently exposed to odors, dust, and oil/grease.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate.
- Willing and able to progress through the leveled Molding Technician training curriculum.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and math proficiency.
- Proficient in reading and writing English.
- Computer proficiency.
