POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT POSITION:
Chemistry Lab Assistant

Lab assistant responsibilities centered on assisting the science faculty with laboratory preparation and activities.

Part-time position based on semester system. This position is for the Fall 2026 semester beginning on, August 17, 2026 and ending December 14, 2026. Lab assistant positions are part-time positions of employment appointed on a per academic term basis. Therefore, your employment is limited, and there is no expectation that your association with Chattahoochee Tech will be extended beyond this term.

Prior to hiring, candidates will undergo a pre-employment criminal background check, motor vehicle records review, and employer/professional reference verification. After initial screening, additional documentation may be requested.

• Successful completion of all of the following sequence of classes with a minimum grade of "B" in the laboratory portion of the course: CHEM
  1211/CHEM
  1211L (General Chemistry
  1) and CHEM
  1212/CHEM
  1212L (General Chemistry
  2), or their equivalent
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and computer literacy skills

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Biology

• Salary, $12/hour - with a maximum of 19 hours per week.
• There are no State Benefits.
• All Chattahoochee Technical College employees must be paid by DIRECT DEPOSIT unless exempted by the State Accounting Office based on "hardship" evidence provided by the employee.
