Audit Supervising Senior - Southern California About the job Audit Supervising Senior - Southern California Core Responsibilities

  • Supervise teams of staff accountants and review staff deliverables for accuracy while providing feedback and guidance.
  • Participate in planning and lead the day-to-day execution of the audit according to auditing standards.
  • Build strong relationships with client personnel and serve as the client's primary contact where appropriate.
  • Delegate assignments effectively and provide on-the-job training to help staff develop analytical and client relationship-building skills.
  • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism and ethical conduct.
Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA License or demonstrated progress towards obtaining a license.
  • Having passed all four parts of the CPA exam is strongly preferred.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States full-time.
Essential Functions
  • Prepare high-quality work product for supervisor review.
  • Complete assigned projects within engagement timelines and budget guidelines.
  • Identify accounting issues and propose strategies to resolve them.
  • Think creatively to discover innovative solutions to engagement efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communicate the status of work and issues with managers or partners promptly.
  • Take initiative to assist staff and encourage teamwork and open exchanges of ideas.
  • Identify areas of potential process improvement for clients and recommend best practices.
  • Participate in training, recruiting events, and firm activities.
  • Is committed to delivering the highest level of client service and willing to go the extra mile to meet deadlines.
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience depending on relevant work experience.
  • Exhibit leadership skills that demonstrate strong judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
  • Demonstrated sound professional judgment and strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Effectively utilize firm audit software and research tools to continually learn, share knowledge, and enhance the quality of service to clients.
  • A strong technical aptitude for accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP and GAAS.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in a professional setting.
  • Ability to learn in a fast‑paced environment and receptive to feedback and coaching.
  • Ability to multi‑task, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative on projects.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to supervise more than one engagement at a time.
  • Can work independently and manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.
  • High attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and a team player mentality, willingness and eagerness to assist others, and a can‑do spirit.
