OUTREACH COORDINATOR
$22-$25D.O.E.

Veterans Stand Together (VST) is a 501 ( c ) (3) non-profit organization that empowers veterans and their communities through cooperation, support and advocacy.

We have (3) divisions: a vocational division, a housing division and a homeless outreach/mental health division.

We are currently seeking an Outreach Coordinator (OC) to assist our vocational division. Incumbent would be responsible for the procurement and processing of Veteran students/participants. Outreach Coordinator will assist withcreation and implementation of promotional materials, class procurement and event coordination.

The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the vocational division to identify, enroll, and assist veterans with organizational programs and promote the curriculum sessions. The Outreach Coordinator will also monitor student/veteran and course outcomes and work with local and area employers to secure job placement for program participants.

Bilingual (Preferred): Proficiency in Spanish is an advantage.

Core Job Duties

  • Identify, enroll, and assist veterans/community members with organizational programs.
  • Promote curriculum sessions and track attendee data.
  • Monitor student/veteran and course outcomes.
  • Maintain outreach client information database and referrals to the programs.
  • Document case notes and maintain physical and digital files.
  • Perform file maintenance, ensuring proper collection and storage of personal documents while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Track participants referred for program entry and screening appointments.
  • Handle intake, assessment, right-to-work documents (, SSC, DD214), selective service, resume, enrollment agreement, and grievance form.
  • Identify individual barriers to employment and assist participants in overcoming these barriers.
  • Collaborate with career services to identify local area employers for job placements for program participants.
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in telephone and mail campaigns, job fairs, community-based activities, site-based events, and other field marketing activities/events.
  • Attend weekly scheduled corporate meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Able to meet deadlines while handling multiple projects.
  • Skilled at handling conflicts and presenting information to staff in a constructive manner.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws
  • Organized and able to maintain accurate records.
  • Experienced in communicating ideas and providing the appropriate training to staff for follow-through.

Qualifications

  • Three years of administrative or teaching experience in education.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency Degree
  • Experience working with diverse cultures is considered an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Excellent telephone skills and telephone etiquette
  • Ability to demonstrate active listening skills
  • Self-motivated and team player
  • Ability to multitask, be flexible, and adapt to change
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and an effective problem-solver
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel) is preferred
