Business Services Representative
Amity Foundation, an internationally acclaimed Teaching and Therapeutic Community, invites compassionate and enthusiastic candidates to join its workforce development programs as a Business Services Representative (BSR). This role is integral in creating employment opportunities for Amity students by connecting them with local businesses and organizations.
What You Will Do- Conduct outreach to employers to promote workforce development services, including recruitment assistance, job matching, hiring events, and training programs.
- Lead regular employer engagement meetings, site visits, and follow‑up communications.
- Provide coaching on job interview techniques and professional etiquette.
- Organize and facilitate job readiness workshops and career development seminars.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local employers and industry contacts.
- Assist participants with applying for full‑time employment after paid work experience.
- Develop a network of potential employers and job openings.
- Educate employers on the benefits of hiring job seekers from underrepresented or marginalized groups.
- Maintain an up‑to‑date database of employers and job openings.
- Perform data entry using the Apricot System for all participants through all phases of the program.
- Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies as necessary.
- Stay updated on labor market trends and high‑demand occupations.
- Communicate effectively with Program Coordinators, Faculty, and community partners.
- Maintain comprehensive case records and accurate statistical information for students and services.
- Advocate for job seekers within the community and on behalf of Amity.
- Track and report on job placement outcomes, including 12‑month retention.
- Attend workshops, meetings, and training sessions requested by leadership.
- Represent the department at community resources fairs, job fairs, and partner events.
- Host informational tables and coordinate employer round tables to gather feedback.
- Capture and share insights from round tables to guide program improvements.
- Support planning of Amity-hosted job fairs and partner orientations.
- Serve as Community Advocate role when requested.
- Perform other related duties and maintain punctual and regular attendance.
- Understanding of incarceration and its long‑term effects.
- Appreciation for individual differences shaped by personality, culture, and context.
- Operational knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with diverse constituencies.
- Adherence to ethical behavior and professional standards.
- Participation in community‑building activities as appropriate.
- Commitment to safeguarding participants’ health, safety, confidentiality, and welfare.
- Background screening clearance as required by Amity and CDCR.
