Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Technician to join our service team. This position is ideal for experienced professionals who take pride in delivering high-quality, ethical work and value strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will be proficient in bumper‑to‑bumper diagnostics, mechanical repairs, and vehicle systems, servicing both client and dealership vehicles in alignment with company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and mechanical repairs across various vehicle systems.
- Communicate additional service needs to the Service Advisor for client approval.
- Collaborate with the Shop Foreman to plan and execute repair procedures efficiently.
- Provide accurate labor time estimates and update the Service Advisor on repair progress, especially for waiting clients.
- Adhere to dealership policies regarding vehicle care, documentation, and client interaction.
- Document repair stories and service details thoroughly in the dealership system.
- Utilize factory and dealership diagnostic tools and software.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Wear approved safety gear in designated areas.
- Stay current with factory technical bulletins and participate in ongoing training.
- Comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
- Specialties: bumper‑to‑bumper diagnostics, mechanical systems, or specific vehicle systems.
- Certifications:
Preference for Kia or Hyundai certified technicians; experienced import technicians are strongly encouraged to apply. - Compensation:
Paid on a flag‑rate basis. - Aggressive pay plan for master technicians.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an automotive training program or relevant coursework preferred.
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems and repair procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and follow safety protocols.
- Valid operator’s driver’s license.
- State inspection license (preferred or required depending on location).
- Regularly required to stand, walk, handle tools, reach, climb, kneel, crouch, and communicate.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 100 lbs regularly and over 100 lbs frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
