The Supply Chain Supervisor
's responsibilities include purchasing process management, inventory management, developing buyers and purchasing agents on system skills and purchasing processes. Resolving supply chain issues including sales tax issues. Developing processes to ensure favorable pricing from Vendors. Developing and maintaining positive Suppler relationships. The role also involves ensuring compliance with safety standards and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in the maintenance department. Provides exceptional leadership and direction through coaching, mentorship, supervision and development with a focus on a safe and inclusive environment.
- Process requisitions into Purchase Orders for the procurement of materials and services with attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to recognize areas of improvement and offer suggestions for continuous improvement.
- Reconcile and resolve inconsistencies in relation to purchase orders, invoices, warehouse receipts, etc.
- Lead the development and implementation of controls and procedures for high-risk supply chain tasks, ensuring safety standards and mitigating risks in logistics, transportation, handling, and storage
- Liaise directly with departments to understand their needs and ensure that planning of Supply Chain activities align with operational goals and schedules
- Analyzing Supply Chain performance and logistics data, tracking key metrics, and providing reports to senior management to drive continuous improvement including reduction of freight costs
- Establish effective processes for monitoring and recording the progress of rush shipments and deliveries, providing regular updates and reports to management and key stakeholders
- Lead and manage supply chain staff by providing training, guidance and performance management to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Monitor customer demand and adjust procurement and inventory levels proactively.
- Reduce stock holding and inventory levels while maintaining zero stock outs.
- Participate in the RFP process for new work and oversee the development of contract documents.
- Coordinate the sale of redundant/obsolete stock, scrap, and fixed assets.
- Integrate the supply chain with maintenance, operations, and construction.
- Provide training and supervision to users on inventory control and procurement practices.
- Analyze and provide guidance on sales tax issues.
- Coordinate and assist with Inventory counts.
- Support training and development of team members to ensure technical competency and safety awareness.
- Participates and is responsible for hiring, evaluation, commendation, training, disciplinary action and dismissals of supervised staff.
- If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible user of company vehicles. Must possess a current State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Responsible for keeping work areas safe and free of hazards. Performs Field Level Risk Assessments.
- Must be able to comprehend written and verbal instructions as required to perform his duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Comply with daily, weekly and monthly safety directives, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to Redpath and client information.
- Complies with and ensure compliance with Redpath’s Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals, handbooks, directives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Able to work in excess of 40 hours a week, overtime, day and nights, weekends, holidays and shift rotations.
- Compliance with Redpath Core Competencies is an essential duty and responsibility.

- Bachelor's degree with a major in Purchasing, Business, Finance or similar discipline preferred, or comparable 6-years work experience
- Minimum of 6 years Senior purchasing experience
- Experience managing and supervising employees
- Mining industry experience preferred
- Must meet requirements to be able to operate a company vehicle
- Highly proficient in Oracle Fusion Purchasing
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
