Construction Superintendent – Beck Construction & Excavation, Inc
Beck Construction & Excavation is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on underground utility and civil & municipal construction projects throughout Northern Utah. This role oversees the entire on‑site execution of the project, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and to Beck’s standards of quality and professionalism.
Pay RangeBase pay range: $85,000.00/yr - $/yr
What You’ll Do- Lead and coordinate all on‑site activities for civil and underground utility projects.
- Direct daily work through Foremen, ensuring tasks, sequencing, and expectations are clear.
- Coordinate subcontractors, equipment, materials, testing, inspections, and deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and approved submittals.
- Review project details with the Project Manager to align field execution with schedule and scope.
- Manage Blue Stakes, safety meetings, SWPPP compliance, and required documentation.
- Monitor production goals, manpower needs, and site readiness.
- Review and approve daily reports, timecards, equipment logs, and quantities.
- Maintain redlines/as‑builts and support accurate project closeout.
- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager and Management about progress, changes, and field challenges.
- Mentor and develop Foremen, supporting a professional and solutions‑focused jobsite culture.
- 5–10 years of superintendent or advanced foreman experience in heavy civil or underground utilities.
- Strong understanding of storm drain, sewer, waterline installation, trenching, excavation, shoring, and grading.
- Ability to interpret drawings, plans, profiles, and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, sequence, and coordinate multiple field operations.
- Strong leadership skills with ability to hold foremen accountable.
- Experience working with cities, engineers, inspectors, and UDOT specifications.
- Proficiency with field technology (Trimble B2W, Busy Busy, Excel, job reporting tools).
- Valid driver’s license required.
- OSHA 30.
- ATSSA TCS/Maintainer.
- SWPPP/RSI.
- Trench Safety / Competent Person.
- First Aid / CPR.
