Health and Safety Manager

Your Impact- Perform monthly on‑site safety inspections.
- Provide the Engineer an opportunity to participate in these inspections.
- Coordinate safety‑related efforts with the on‑site competent safety person.
- Provide specific project safety orientation.
- Ensure attendance of contractors, subcontractors, and departmental employees working on the project before work begins.
- Document attendance.
- Verify that on‑site supervisors have completed and passed OSHA 10‑hour Construction training or an OSHA 30‑hour Construction training class regardless of company affiliation.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) related field or equivalent.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience on transportation and large civil construction projects.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
- Valid Utah driver’s license.
- Transit experience.
- DOT experience.
