Our client is seeking a Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Engineer to provide on-site design review support for a variety of buildings in the Federal market sector. This position is for a design engineer with a background in HVAC, piping, and plumbing design. Building types may include administration/office buildings, laboratories, server rooms, manufacturing, warehouses as well as maintenance facilities. The ideal candidate has leadership experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with experienced professionals.

• Ensuring project compliance with applicable codes and creating and maintaining project schedules for small to mid-size projects
• Review of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables (specifications, drawings, calculations, and basis of design documents) for new buildings, for accuracy, clarity, coordination, codes, and standards
• Actively coordinates with other disciplines, clients, and contractors
• Understands construction phase services (review of submittals, responses to RFI's)
• Able to present in front of large groups that include clients, peers, contractors, and end users

• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• Federal industry experience and familiarity with government requirements (i.e., UFCs, MIL-STDs, UFGS)
• Knowledge of building mechanical codes
• Strong HVAC / Plumbing design capability in industrial, commercial, central plants, boilers, chillers, and other related markets
• Knowledgeable in sustainable design
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with the Unified Facilities Criteria
• Building Controls Systems Design /Building Automation

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an accredited

• Must be able to pass a criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search
• Security Clearance (SECRET) or ability to get one
• Must be US citizen
