Job Description

Raisebore Assistant II – assisting the Raisebore Operator in operating raisedrill machinery. Responsibilities include setup, drilling, component installation, maintenance, safety compliance, and crew mentoring. Expected to learn advanced mining operations and safety procedures.

• Maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
• Comprehend written and verbal instructions for safe operation.
• Assist the Operator on assigned raisedrill machines following procedure.
• Guide crew members on safe and efficient operation.
• Provide training/mentoring to less‑experienced crew.
• Connect components on the raisedrill as required.
• Monitor inventory for reamers, drill bits, and spare parts; communicate needs to Project Superintendent.
• Read and interpret engineering plans for setup and assembly.
• Perform minor repairs when needed.
• Assist crew in maintaining a clean site and proper storage of materials.
• Follow proper procedures to ensure safety and prevent equipment damage.
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment.
• Operate company vehicle if required; must hold a current State Driver’s License.
• Perform Field Level Risk Assessments and keep work areas hazard‑free.
• Comply with daily, weekly, and monthly safety directives and procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
• Adhere to Redpath Policies and Procedures, including SOPs.
• Work overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Demonstrate core competencies of Redpath.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Assist other job functions as required.

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.

• Some college education, preferably in mechanical or trades related field.

• Preferred: 1‑2 years experience in a mining environment.
• Experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

• Proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Knowledge of underground mining environment.
• Ability to read engineering prints (civil, structural, rock excavation).
• Understanding of mine regulations pertaining to construction.

• Pass background clearance, drug screening, and physical.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Prepare written reports and correspondence.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Work in a team with minimal supervision.
• High attention to detail, neatness, and accuracy.
• Work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong understanding of safety standards and protocols.
