This role plays a key part in delivering childcare and development education to parents and providers, drafting proposals, planning, and coordinating annual educational programs and training initiatives as part of the Resource & Referral (R&R) program. The educator also contributes to outreach efforts aimed at recruiting and retaining family childcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Training and Coordination – 50% Develop training, marketing, recruit participants, and enroll classes in both El Dorado & Alpine Counties. Schedule trainings and deliver engaging presentations on topics such as Trauma Informed Care, Family, Friends and Neighbors Care, Childcare Initiative Project, Strengthening Families, Parent Cafés, CPR First Aid, Public Health Practices, and Lead Prevention Training. Collaborate with community partners to deliver culturally relevant and inclusive programming;
work with R&R Manager and Team to increase childcare capacity; build and maintain relationships with community agencies, providers, and public systems. - Data Tracking and Reporting – 10% Create and implement timelines, design and produce outcome surveys. Provide data tracking and coordinate with R&R Manager to produce semi‑annual and annual reports to funders and stakeholders. Participate in meetings, webinars, and professional development; monitor and report on provider compliance with state and agency policies; enter and maintain accurate data in agency databases and state systems;
track service delivery, outcomes, and family progress. - Technical Assistance, Coaching and Support – 20% Create and share PowerPoint docs, handouts, newsletter articles and training calendar. Provide technical assistance to parents and providers on childcare, child development and licensing regulations. Share current licensing and PIN information. Work with funders and outside agencies for data collection. Provide Bridge referrals, coaching, and outreach to increase family childcare capacity. Participate in outreach events, fairs, and collaborative initiatives.
- Resource and Referral – 20% Provide individualized referrals to licensed providers based on family needs, preferences, and eligibility. Maintain knowledge of local childcare options, community resources, and support services. Assist families with housing, food, healthcare, mental health, and employment support. Support families in crisis or transition, including those involved in child welfare or experiencing trauma. Collaborate with office and R&R team;
write proposals and support contract renewal. - Additional Accountabilities Provide education and training to parents and providers; offer quality resources and referrals; deliver comprehensive information; represent the organization professionally.
- B.S./B.A. with emphasis in Child Development, Human Services or related discipline required, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in case management, childcare resource and referral, or community programming.
- Experience developing and implementing curriculum for diverse age groups.
- Bilingual Spanish/English.
- Experience working with diverse and underserved populations, including families impacted by trauma.
- At least 40 hours of experience working with adult learners.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong customer orientation.
- Attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
- Generally pleasant working conditions.
- Duties involve little or no physical effort.
- Travel: 10–30%.
Full Time, Onsite
ScheduleMonday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.;
Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; occasional evening & weekend hours.
