An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced practice accountant to join an independent accountancy firm in York as Partner Designate, with a clear and genuine route into partnership. The firm has an established SME client base and prides itself on providing a personal, commercially focused service. This is a non-audit role, with the successful candidate taking responsibility for a portfolio of owner-managed businesses while becoming increasingly involved in the wider running and development of the practice.
The role will include:
Managing a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients Reviewing accounts, corporation tax and VAT work Providing clients with commercial and accounting advice beyond compliance Building strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to develop existing accounts Reviewing and supporting the work of more junior team members Taking an active role in the development and growth of the practice Working closely with the existing partners with a view to progressing into partnership The ideal candidate: ACA or ACCA qualified Strong experience gained within an accountancy practice Confident dealing directly with owner-managed businesses Commercially minded with good communication and relationship-building skills Comfortable reviewing accounts and providing sound technical advice Ambitious to progress into partnership rather than simply looking for another practice role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Client Manager / Senior Manager / Associate Director who wants a genuine pathway to partnership within an independent firm where they can have a real influence on the future direction of the business.
