About The School
The vision of South Lanarkshire Council is to value improved life quality for all in South Lanarkshire. Victoria Park School is in Carluke in the Clydesdale area, sharing a campus with High Mill Primary School. The school serves pupils with a broad range of complex additional support needs from Primary 1 to Primary
7. Pupils are allocated placements through the ASN Primary Allocations process. Class sizes are smaller and staff ratios are higher to support learning.
All children in Scotland's local authority schools follow a Curriculum for Excellence. We use the Milestones to Support Learners with Complex Needs to inform teaching, planning and assessment. The school adapts the curriculum to meet pupil needs, using active learning, Play Based Learning, practical tasks and community links. Pupils have access to soft play, a sensory room, a hydrotherapy pool, an internal courtyard and a garden for breaks and play.
The Additional Support Needs Department caters for students who require additional support across areas of the curriculum. South Lanarkshire Council schools have undergone a major modernisation programme to create high quality ASN and primary/secondary provision.
As a team, we aim to make positive, meaningful changes in the lives of young people and provide an exceptional learning and working environment.
