Job Summary

South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are looking to recruit a qualified guitar tutor with the ability to teach both children and adult classes.

    Carluke Leisure Centre, Carnwath Road, Carluke
  • Hours:

    2.2 hours (annualised)
  • Shift pattern:
    Saturday 11am – 1pm
  • Duration:
    Temporary until 30 September 2026
  • Salary: £17.72 – £18.21 per hour
Responsibilities
  • Deliver an ongoing programme of progressive guitar classes and courses to a wide range of age groups.
  • Teach one‑off workshops and festivals across South Lanarkshire.
  • Support students through personalised coaching and progress monitoring.
  • Contribute to programme planning and development.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualified guitar tutor with experience teaching both children and adults.
  • Ability to travel throughout South Lanarkshire is desirable.
  • Must comply with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 2003 and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
  • Required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before formal offer.
  • Candidates may need to provide a foreign police check if living or working abroad for 3 months or more in the last 10 years.
