Job Description & How to Apply Below
If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.
We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.
We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Product Manager Transactional Banking & FX - Jersey, Channel Islands. As an HSBC employee in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man (CIIOM) you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all employees, enhanced parental and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a non-contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
As Product Manager, Transactional Banking & FX Payments (in Retail Products), you’ll own and improve the end-to-end experience for international payments and related FX journeys across our customer channels (Mobile, Browser/Online and Contact Centre). Your focus will be on making sure procedures, controls and operational playbooks are accurate, current and consistently applied—so we could help stakeholders to resolve customer queries and complaints quickly, fairly and with clear accountability, in addition to enhance our current international process flows.
You’ll work closely with Operations, IT, Fraud, Frontline, Propositions and Product teams to investigate issues, understand root cause, and implement pragmatic fixes. This role needs strong knowledge of international payments processing (including FX) and the ability to connect the dots across payment rails, hub transactions, trackers, confirmations, and exception handling—including BNCR (Beneficiary Claims No Receipt), recalls and returns. This role needs someone who can map complex payment flows, understand the SLAs and dependencies at each step (including FX), and communicate clearly with stakeholders—from Relationship Managers (RMs) to interbank/relationship management teams—especially where funds are delayed, pending, recalled, retained, or not credited/refunded within expected this role you’ll:
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Wealth & Personal Banking (WPB) products within CIIOM, providing trusted guidance across proposition, customer journey, pricing and performance and end-to-end coordinator for international payments and FX journeys across Mobile, Browser/Online and Contact Centre—maintaining visibility of the full flow and ensuring consistent customer and colleague experience through effective cross-team execution. Support the design and delivery of strategic initiatives that enable the CIIOM Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and improve the Customer Recommendation Index (CRI), ensuring clear scope, measurable outcomes and timely execution.
Maintain strong working knowledge of international payments servicing and exception handling, ensuring the right teams keep procedures and guidance accurate and SLA-aligned (including BNCR, delayed/missing credits, partial amounts, returns/refunds, amendments, recalls, fees and FX queries). Provide case leadership for international payments queries and complaints: structure investigations, allocate actions to the right owners, track progress to closure, and ensure clear written summaries and customer-aligned outcomes (including BNCR evidence, trace and recall coordination where appropriate).
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
Be proficient in the tools and concepts required to track and diagnose issues end-to-end, including International Payment Tracker, payment limits, error codes, hub transactions, and payment confirmations—using these to pinpoint where ownership sits and drive timely resolution by the relevant teams. Maintain practical understanding of…
