Responsibilities- Assist the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) to meet statutory requirements under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, Adults Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007 and the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000.
- Manage high‑tariff cases, including civil, forensic, AWI, and Adult Support and Protection legislation; provide protection plans and statutory case management.
- Conduct new assessments of need and develop care plans that encourage service users’ participation, independence and self‑development.
- Work within a Multidisciplinary Team and collaborate with different disciplines and agencies to achieve optimal outcomes for service users.
- Maintain accurate records of clients’ circumstances, emerging needs and support plans to keep all relevant professionals fully informed.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to apply it for the benefit of the client group.
- Experience working with adults and older people with complex mental health issues and young adults transitioning from child and adolescent services.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills, with a client‑focused and collaborative approach.
- Post is excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Scotland) Act 2020.
- Regulated role with Adults for Disclosure Scotland Act 2020; applicants barred from working with Adults are prohibited from applying.
- Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG check prior to formal offer.
- Applicants born outside the UK or who have lived or worked abroad for a continuous period of three months in the past ten years must provide a translated Overseas Criminal Records Check, certified by an official authority, confirming no pending criminal record proceedings.
