Join Kroger’s e‑Commerce team as a Clerk. Select, process, and ship online orders while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Job DescriptionGather products for customers’ online orders efficiently, maintaining quality and freshness. Assemble orders, process coupons and payments, and load orders into store pickup vehicles. Serve customers with respect, honesty, and safety, reflecting Kroger’s core values.
Responsibilities- Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
- Receive, store, and select products according to temperature zones and guidelines.
- Initiate and complete selection process for customers’ online orders.
- Read and follow directions given in the note section.
- Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
- Communicate with customers via a portable phone; respond to calls professionally and timely.
- Retrieve and load each customer’s order into pickup vehicles.
- Process orders through the point of sale (POS) system.
- Determine appropriate substitutions when items are out of stock.
- Bag orders while following all bagging standards.
- Communicate substitutions or exceptions to pickup customers.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
- Report pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies to the e‑Commerce supervisor.
- Inspect equipment and notify the supervisor or management of items needing repair.
- Perform required opening and closing procedures.
- Learn and adapt to new processes.
- Assist in training new e‑Commerce team members.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
- Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, or older adults.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum
- Work without supervision.
- Read shelf tags.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
Desired
- Experience in a production‑oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or cashier.
