With one in 36 children diagnosed with autism, this entry‑level job is in big demand. As a Behavior Technician at Total Spectrum, you’ll help children with autism learn, grow, and build communication, socialization, and self‑help skills through a form of play‑based therapy known as applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Responsibilities- Help children with autism learn, grow, and build communication, socialization, and self‑help skills through ABA.
- Provide play‑based therapy in clients’ homes or at one of our centers.
- Support a steady supply of compassion, empathy, enthusiasm, kindness, goodwill, and reliability in sessions.
- Maintain accurate client records and progress notes.
- Assist in developing and implementing behavior plans under supervision.
- A genuine desire to help children with autism and their families reach their goals.
- A steady supply of compassion, empathy, enthusiasm, kindness, goodwill, and reliability.
- A willingness to learn about autism, learning differences, and ABA.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred.
- Availability to work a consistent weekly schedule, mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and meet the minimum age requirement of 18.
- Preferred: bilingual in English/Spanish, or study in related fields such as psychology, education, or special education.
- If you work full‑time, you can earn up to 15 days of paid time off (PTO) after 90 days of employment.
- If you work part‑time, you are eligible for sick leave.
- Opportunity to be promoted within three months and develop professionally.
- Physical requirements may involve lifting up to 35 lbs and standing, walking, and running as needed.
Part‑time, with full‑time potential. Hours fall between 8 am–6 pm CST, Monday–Friday, with possible weekends.
