The purpose of this job is to safely weld in all position according to company specifications and standard work.



Job Duties /Responsibilities May Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Follow documented procedures, standard work, routings, and blueprints to perform safe and defect free operations.
• Hand weld all plain and alloy structural steel in all positions.
• Use of jib or gantry crane to manually position weld equipment.
• Grind and dress fabricated weldments.
• May operate forklift, scissor lift and area lift to access weldments.

• 1+ experience with Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW)
• Experience with 3-5 Multi Pass welds on Heavy 1” Plate
• Experience or knowledge of back gouging, carbon arcing or air arcing
• Safety first mindset.
• Ability to work overtime to support production demands.

• Understanding of quality requirements and ability to execute.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.

• This position is located at the Caterpillar manufacturing facility located in South Milwaukee, WI.
• 2nd and 3rd shift available (may be placed on any shift, dependent on business needs)
• Pay starts at Step 1 $ 28.17, Step 2 $ 29.27 after passing 2 of 4 tests, Step 3 $ 30.38 after passing 3 of 4 tests.
• Once employee passes all four required certification tests, will be placed at Step 1 of Welder pay scale $32.07;
  Step 2 $ 33.26, Step 3 $ 34.44 plus shift premium of $1.00 for 2nd shift or 3rd shift.
• Full Time (40 hours, 5 days/week)
