Inventory Manager – Eaton
Join Eaton’s ESS division in South Milwaukee, WI to lead inventory and materials management for manufacturing operations. The role drives processes for receiving raw materials, storing inventory, and shipping finished goods.
What You’ll Do- Drive a zero‑incident safety culture.
- Optimize material storage, flow, and handling processes.
- Set expectations and hold hourly employees accountable, including required training.
- Support continuous improvement and team efforts to meet department and plant goals.
- Assist with personnel requirements, training resources, and job bidding.
- Lead daily tier meetings with cross‑functional teams focused on performance and issue resolution.
- Run daily shipment reports to track on‑time shipping, identify gaps, and develop corrective actions.
- Execute the materials management strategy to support production planning, scheduling, order fulfillment, material releases, handling, logistics, and inventory control.
- Ensure production activities are scheduled efficiently while fulfilling customer delivery requirements.
- Maintain vital plant metrics—on‑time delivery, backlog, days on hand, past‑due work orders.
- Coordinate 3rd‑party warehousing, consignment, Vendor Manager Inventory (VMI), and off‑site scheduling as needed.
- Leverage operating plans to set objectives and performance expectations for the materials management team.
- Lead shipping and receiving, logistics coordinators, and extended material handling team.
- Train and educate the team on supply chain management techniques, business systems, and reports.
- Manage the cycle count program.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in supply chain.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Experience with SAP.
- Prior experience with shop floor inventory control or manufacturing operations optimization.
- Lean/Six Sigma certifications.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and SAP.
- APICS Certification.
- Experience with Kardex automated storage systems.
- Conflict resolution and strong problem‑solving ability.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to manage priorities and crisis situations.
