What you’ll do:
- This role is assembly and test house based engineering apprenticeship where the successful candidate will learn all aspects of assembly and testing of a variety of valves/couplings/slide and swivels/sliding unions/actuators and associated sub‑assembly’s.
- Parts assembled and tested will include a range of Flap/poppet/drain valves across fuel/air/water applications; the candidate will learn all processes involved, from laser/pin stamp part marking to assembly and the test & certification of each part.
- Within these roles the candidate will learn various locking methods (wire lock, drill &pin), riveting, torque tightening, peening and swaging using a variety of hand tools and machines.
- Candidate will learn testing across a variety of rigs and test media.

320/A380 are also included. - A range of hydraulic slide and swivels used on multiple combat aircraft including Typhoon, Hawk and Tornado.
- Apprentices will have scope to explore their own interests. Eaton encourages all employees to develop to their full potential.
- Apprentices will follow a robust rotational plan where they will have the support of the dedicated Apprenticeship Team to ensure their learning journey is exciting, engaging, and successful in line with their educational studies.
- Manufacture of Aerospace components using a variety of assembly and test techniques.
- With the support of Eaton, successfully complete an engineering apprenticeship through a local college or provider.
- Full training will be provided by Eaton.
- Candidates should be able to demonstrate a degree of mechanical understand/interest, whether through hobbies or previous experience.
- Direct experience of and/or demonstrated interest in making things or getting things made from your own personal efforts, i.e. in a workshop, or equivalent position.
- Demonstrated interest in and understanding of mechanical engineering, especially in systems for which safety and reliability are essential, e.g. aerospace.
- Candidates should be able to demonstrate a degree of mechanical understand/interest, whether through hobbies or previous experience.
- An ability to work with written instructions, drawings and through practical instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using email and formal written reports.
- Basic IT skills such as Excel and Word are preferred.
- GCSE (grade
C or above desirable) in English, Mathematics, and one or more Sciences (equivalent experience considered). - A‑Levels (or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
