Are you an experienced CNC Machinist looking for your next opportunity? Our client, is a global and ethical organisation focused on delivering intelligent power management solutions to support the energy transition. They are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join their team in South Molton
. This role involves setting and operating CNC turning and milling machines to produce precision components in line with engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and confident in machine set-up and inspection processes. Aerospace experience is advantageous but not essential.
Permanent Competitive salary (dependent on experience) 37 hours per week – rotating shifts South Molton
Shift Pattern:
- Week 1:
Monday–Thursday 6:00am–2:00pm, Friday 6:00am–11:00am - Week 2:
Monday–Thursday 2:00pm–10:00pm, Friday 11:00am–4:00pm
Job Description
- Set and operate CNC turning and milling machines
- Run machines via DNC link according to programme and work instructions
- Load and set tooling correctly with support from pre-setter
- Inspect first-off components for accuracy
- Measure finished parts using appropriate inspection tools
- Adjust offsets and take corrective action where required
- Maintain “A Stamp” approval status for machines and processes
- Carry out inspection of other team members’ work when required
- Work independently to resolve issues in line with company procedures
- Apply lean manufacturing principles, including 5S and waste reduction
- Support continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities
- Maintain TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) on machines
- Remain flexible across machines and support colleagues as needed
Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications
- Experience setting and operating CNC turning and/or milling machines
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including geometric tolerancing
- Competent using a range of measurement tools and inspection techniques
- Good level of computer literacy
- Apprentice trained or equivalent experience in machining
- Knowledge of COSHH procedures
