Embark on a rewarding contract role supporting students in a dedicated self-contained autism program. Located near Naperville, IL, this in‑person opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
KeyExperience and Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching license (required)
- Proven background managing self-contained classrooms
- Experience working specifically with students with autism is strongly preferred
- Ability to effectively individualize instruction for learners with diverse needs
- Collaborative spirit to work alongside fellow educators, support staff, and families
- Strong organizational, communication, and behavior management skills
- Provide high-quality instruction to a caseload of 9 students within a self-contained classroom setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students strengths, needs, and goals
- Foster a supportive and structured classroom culture, utilizing evidence-based strategies and interventions
- Track and document student progress, adapting teaching methods as needed
- Communicate regularly with families, sharing updates and collaborating on student support
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and compliance activities
