School Business Assistant

We would like to appoint a School Business Assistant from February 23rd 2026 to join our team.

Ashbourne Primary School is a vibrant, welcoming and community‑centred school located in the historic market town of Ashbourne, on the edge of the Peak District. The School Business Assistant will assist the School Business Officer in the day‑to‑day operation of the school’s administration systems and be clerk to governors.

Hours of work will be: 8:30 – 12:00 daily

Plus 5 meetings per year as clerk to governors (7.5 hours)

• Be reliable and enthusiastic and able to use their own initiative
• Have previous experience of working in an office and minuting meetings
• Is highly organised and able to work efficiently under pressure
• Has excellent IT skills and is confident learning new systems
• Communicates clearly, warmly and professionally
• Maintains confidentiality at all times
• Understands the importance of safeguarding and safer recruitment
