We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the utilities sector for a Planning & Scheduling Coordinator to support water operations. This role is key to ensuring the effective deployment of field teams delivering both reactive and planned maintenance across a large-scale water network.
Working in a fast-paced operational environment, you will coordinate up to four field teams, ensuring service level agreements, operational performance standards, and customer expectations are consistently met.
Hours
:
Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 16:30
- Plan and schedule daily workloads for field engineers and technicians across reactive, emergency, and planned maintenance activities
- Optimise workforce allocation to maximise productivity, minimise downtime, and improve travel efficiency
- Monitor live operations and adjust schedules in real time to respond to emergencies and changing priorities
- Liaise with field supervisors, operational managers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery
- Manage emergency job allocation and ensure all scheduling systems, permits, and updates are maintained accurately
- Track and report on KPIs including utilisation, completion rates, and SLA performance
- Support customer service delivery through effective appointment management, updates, and escalation handling
- Ensure all work is compliant with health & safety standards, company procedures, and street works requirements
- Coordinate resources including labour, materials, equipment, and permits
- Identify and implement improvements to planning and scheduling processes
- Maintain accurate operational records and update workforce/scheduling systems in real time
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors to ensure uninterrupted service delivery
- Previous experience in planning, scheduling, or coordinating field-based operations (utilities experience advantageous)
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise across teams and stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good IT skills and experience using scheduling or workforce management systems
- Understanding of health & safety and operational compliance requirements is desirable
