Overview
The Customs Process Administrator (CPA) coordinates and organizes the full range of customs services within a team, from order acceptance and registration to collection of relevant documents until release of goods and customs clearance. A CPA receives extensive internal and external training, including online training for customs legislation and foreign trade, as well as daily support. Weekend work may be required from time to time to support Customs operations, and there may be a shift pattern depending on business needs.
Maintasks and responsibilities
- Understand and be able to perform customs clearances including certificates; identify issues and offer solutions to incidents.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all Import & Export declarations and Transit Movements.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all financial activities relevant to Customs House Brokerage.
- Collate and present data reports to Management, Customers, Internal Stakeholders, Compliance and Implementation Teams.
- Ensure that all local customs authorities’/statutory requirements are met or exceeded.
- Maintain a first-class business relationship with all customers and internal stakeholders for the team.
- Be an active team member who exchanges knowledge and expertise.
- Proactively lead or actively participate in customs-related projects.
- Ensure training is completed to cover all accounts in the team.
- Engender team spirit and staff engagement.
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant customs experience/certification is an advantage.
- Knowledge of local customs authorities is an asset.
- Familiarity with at least one relevant customs software is a plus.
- Outlook and user-level experience of Microsoft applications.
- Customer-facing and interaction skills with high level of customer orientation.
- Team engagement and support.
