Finance Apprentice

Astute Recruitment are delighted to be working with a prestigious organisation in South Derbyshire to recruit a Finance Apprentice.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in finance and accounting, gaining hands‑on experience within a supportive finance team whilst studying towards an AAT qualification. Full training will be provided, alongside one paid day per week dedicated to college or study.

• Processing purchase invoices and preparing payments
• Posting and allocating cash receipts
• Assisting with bank and ledger reconciliations
• Supporting the billing process for fees and other charges
• Assisting with credit control and maintaining customer accounts
• Providing support across both the purchase and sales ledger
• Assisting with management accounts and year‑end audit preparation
• Learning all aspects of the finance function whilst completing an AAT qualification

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)
• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in finance and accountancy
• Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Confident communication skills
• Ability to work well as part of a small, supportive team
• Previous office or finance experience would be advantageous but is not essential

• Fully office‑based in South Derbyshire
• Hours:
  
  8:30 am - 5:30 pm (40 hours per week)
• Salary: 16,640 per annum (Apprenticeship Salary)
• Full support to achieve an AAT qualification
• One paid day per week for college/study
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays
