As Commercial Manager in South Normanton, you will own profitability across our UK-wide fleet services operation, directing cost control and administration while leading the teams that deliver them. Your remit spans supplier negotiations, contract management, and financial analysis, with the authority to refine processes that currently drain time or budget. This permanent position suits a leader comfortable with both strategic oversight and operational detail, capable of strengthening agreements and improving workflows.
The role offers a salary of £36,000 to £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus increased holiday entitlement. You will directly shape commercial performance, making measurable improvements to how the business operates. Profitability in fleet operations is won in the detail , controlling costs, strengthening supplier agreements and making sure every commercial process works as effectively as it should. As Commercial Manager, you''ll take ownership of those areas while leading the teams responsible for keeping them moving.
You''ll oversee cost control and administration within an established UK-wide fleet services operation, combining team leadership with financial analysis, supplier management, contract negotiation and process improvement. - Lead the day-to-day performance of the cost control and administration teams, ensuring effective training, resources and performance management are in place
- Manage WIP invoicing and cost control activity, keeping processing efficient while working within agreed budgets and targets
- Analyse repair and operational costs, challenging discrepancies and ensuring charges remain in line with contractual agreements and SLAs
- Manage supplier relationships, contracts and negotiations, reviewing financial and operational performance against agreed KPIs
- Oversee key processes including customer contracts, RPI/CPI rate increases, customer implementation and contract termination
- Improve processes across departments through effective SOPs, performance reporting and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven fleet operations experience gained within fleet management, transport or logistics
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to assess and analyse vehicle repair costs
- Demonstrable experience of cost control, supplier management and contract negotiation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability with experience using data to support decisions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems and fleet management software
