Urgency:
Immediate opening at our Utah Digestive Health clinic in South Ogden, UT.
This position is a full‑time front‑desk representative responsible for greeting patients, collecting information, processing co‑pays, handling telephone inquiries, and maintaining a safe and organized work area. The role may include urgent‑care hours as needed.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, promptly, and professionally.
- Gather patient and insurance information accurately.
- Collect and process co‑pays at time of service.
- Generate fee slips with correct physician information and obtain required signatures on legal documents.
- Answer phones, screen calls, take messages, and provide information to the appropriate source.
- Enter patient data into the EHR system.
- Direct and escort patients to physician offices.
- Provide appointment instructions to patients.
- Assist patients using wheelchairs and escort them to the appropriate doctor’s office if required.
- Monitor the work area to ensure it remains safe, secure, and well‑maintained.
- Work urgent‑care hours if required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish immediate rapport with patients.
- One year of customer‑service or reception experience in a health‑care environment preferred.
- Previous healthcare experience and/or familiarity with medical terminology helpful.
- Experience with business‑office equipment (credit‑card machines, fax machines, printers, etc.) preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic mathematics skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and organization services.
- Ability to use a multi‑line phone system, including transferring calls.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to route calls to the appropriate person and defuse irate callers.
- Adequate hearing.
- Ability to speak clearly and loudly enough to be heard.
Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
Work EnvironmentPosition is in a well‑lit office environment. Requires sitting approximately 90 % of the day and walking or standing the remainder.
