Piano and Violin Teacher

Overview

A growing music school with two locations is seeking qualified Violin and Piano teachers for in-person lessons on Saturdays plus additional weekdays. We are looking for highly qualified and versatile instructors to join our team of effective and caring music educators. Instructors will begin on a part-time basis as employees. Beginning hourly rate is $28.00–$32.50 with the opportunity to discuss a raise in January.

Lessons are to be taught on site, in person. We are in need of one-on-one music teachers as well as assistance with a beginning concert band group class. We provide dental, telemedicine, accrued sick leave, and professional development workshops.

• Deliver one-on-one violin and piano instruction on-site, primarily on Saturdays with additional weekday availability.
• Assist with a beginning concert band group class as needed.
• Collaborate with a team to create a high-quality, engaging music education environment.

• Minimum of a Bachelor s Degree or greater in a related field.
• Previous teaching experience is a plus.
• Ability to teach to the individual while still meeting set goals for each student.
• Good people skills; works well with both children and adults, and enjoys building client relationships.
• Timely and reliable; while gigging musicians are welcome, we seek consistent attendance and do not want frequent off-travel or recording breaks.
• Good time management skills.
• A positive attitude during instruction; ability to encourage and motivate students to work through weak areas and build on strengths.
• Desire to collaborate with a team to create a high-quality, yet fun, music education environment.
• Must love teaching; a career in teaching is a big plus.
