About us:
We are a vibrant music studio located in the heart of South Pasadena since February 2017 that provides quality music education to students of all ages and skill levels. We strive to bring joy through music by offering enriching lessons and building relationships with our students. We are a team of individuals committed to creating a supportive learning environment and continually look for new ways to push the envelope of piano pedagogy with modern teaching styles and approaches.
We teach all types of music ranging from classical and jazz repertoire to radio hits. We prioritize students’ experiences and have been established as a highly reputable school within our community.
We are currently looking to expand our services to offer group lessons and are looking to hire a piano instructor to teach group classes at our South Pasadena music studio. Our current openings are for Mondays-Wednesdays.
We are looking for candidates who:- Enjoy teaching young children piano
- Utilize fun games and musical activities during lessons
- Have an upbeat, modern, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
- Want to be part of a team of enthusiastic teachers who support each other and collaborate often
- Are open to and eager to learn different teaching methods and styles
- Are comfortable teaching in person
- Have at least 2 days a week available during the hours of approximately 2 pm – 6 or 7 pm
- Have a reliable method of transportation to South Pasadena
- Are legally authorized to work in the US
- Plan and facilitate engaging group music lessons for students of various ages and skill levels.
- Develop age‑appropriate lesson plans that align with our educational objectives.
- Continuously assess student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed to ensure student growth and knowledge.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and collaboration.
- Prepare materials and resources for lessons and activities.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Have taken or currently taking private piano instruction (Required)
- Bachelor’s in Music or in progress (Strongly Preferred)
- Piano instruction: 1 year (Required)
- Experience working with children (Required)
- Previous experience teaching lessons in a group setting (Preferred)
- Familiarity with music education testing platforms such as ABRSM, RCM, CM (Preferred)
