Mortgage Loan Officers are responsible for originating loans, conducting borrower interviews, analyzing credit histories, and staying updated about current regulations. Loan Officers will work closely with a Loan Coordinator and the processing team, ensuring the loan moves through the process to closing while maintaining the highest level of service and ethics.
Responsibilities- Establish and maintain relationships with referral partners, and the community at large in order to retain existing and attract new business.
- Oversee all customer interactions and ensure a smooth transaction by interfacing with referral partners, processors, and underwriters
- Communicate a thorough understanding of different loan programs and closing costs to help prospective buyers make a decision.
- Develop a personal marketing plan with our full-time marketing expert to help increase business.
- Develop appointments on a regular basis to call on customers and referral sources outside the office developing and maintaining relationships.
- Ensure client privacy, security of files and appropriate team member access.
Maintaining state and federal licenses by staying informed of lending programs and company policy and procedures.
Proactively following up on leads.
Qualifications- Multiple years of mortgage origination, or lending required
- Understand a variety of loans such as: FHA, VA, USDA, conventional, fixed/ adjustable, bridge, non-conforming, FNMA and FHLMC, and Home Equity Lines of Credit
- Strong understanding of company loan policies and guidelines, as well as all federal and state regulations
- Provide excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional decision-making ability
- 1-2 years of mortgage lending sales experience with excellent sales and customer service skills.
- A proven track record in developing business relationships.
- Valid driver license required to perform primary/essential duties.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective project management skills and the ability to proactively problem-solve.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, conflict resolution, and team building skills.
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the organization, work autonomously, handle multiple projects, and remain flexible and adaptable to change.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and remain focused and results oriented in a deadline driven environment.
- Exceptional Customer Service, highly motivated, focused, and goal oriented.
