The GEAR UP Grant Data Assistant will help oversee the implementation of all programmatic and fiscal responsibilities as identified in the grant at GEAR UP schools. The GEAR UP Data Assistant will work with the GEAR UP Grant Coordinator to collaborate across district departments, with GEAR UP School Site Coordinators, district and school leaders, school staff, higher education institutions, and community partners to implement all programmatic and fiscal requirements of the grant.
GEAR UP is a data driven grant requiring the timely collection, preservation, classifying, and reporting of budgetary, expense, and student service data. This position will be required to help the grant coordinator ensure that GEAR UP programming is data-driven and that the GEAR UP program is meeting federal, USU STARS!, and Granite School District policies and expectations. The funding of this grant is approved annually for the subsequent year.
EssentialFunctions
- Work with GEAR Up coordinator, Granite District Accounting Department, and Utah State University to submit monthly invoices and reports as required by the GEAR Up III grant.
- Assist GEAR Up coordinator in classroom presentations and field trips.
- Attendance, physical presence, and timeliness are required and are essential functions of this position.

- Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Must be able to speak and/or hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. Occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel and must occasionally climb or balance.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift/move up to 15 lbs.
