As a Mechanical Engineer on our team, you will contribute directly to advancing our mission to empower communities to become their own renewable energy provider. Your work will drive the development of reliable, affordable, and secure flywheel energy storage systems. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in energy storage and management.

• Own hardware development through all stages: conceptualization, prototyping, testing, and production.
• Solve complex technical problems to meet product specifications, while balancing cost, complexity, and quality.
• Build, test, and analyze hardware systems using sensors, test equipment, and electromechanical components.
• Rapidly iterate on designs and analyses to guide product development direction.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, including poka-yoke techniques, to reduce part count, process complexity, and improve reliability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external engineering partners to drive design decisions and execution.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, industry standards, and safety requirements.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, testing, and manufacturing or equivalent.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in mechanical design projects, with demonstrated ownership and execution.
• Strong CAD proficiency, with hands‑on experience in mechanical design tools.
• Proficient in both hand calcs and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience in prototyping, testing, and design validation.
• Proactive, action‑oriented approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to take full ownership of complex technical challenges and system‑level designs.
• A passion and proven track record of designing robust mechanical structures.
• Broad technical expertise spanning multiple mechanical engineering domains.

• Proficient in Solid Works CAD, FEA, and drawings.
• Strong understanding and practical application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) in development and manufacturing environments.
