Assistant Manager

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Assistant Manager works closely with the Club Manager to ensure an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience.

• Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within the time frames required by the company and maintain physical ability to perform CPR/AED in the event of a medical emergency.
• Obtain Tanning Certification within the time frame required by the company.
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and developing a high performing staff consisting of Member Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians.
• Assist in maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
• Assist with staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed.
  • Assist in scheduling and supervising.
  • Member service oversight – ensuring staff is providing a superior customer experience.
  • Assist in resolving or escalating employee issues.
• Oversee all front desk activities.
  • Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
  • Check members in.
  • Process new member sign-up.
  • Take prospective members on tours.
  • Facilitate all member requests, issues and inquiries.
• Assist in overseeing cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
• Assist in ordering supplies using a budget based on club requirements.
• Assist in tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, annually).
• Provide backup support for any absent employee.

• Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
• Experience working as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness.
• Solid supervisory, diplomacy and listening skills.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite).
• Hard working, enthusiastic and energetic.
• High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Environment: Work is performed indoors; exposure to noise, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards, and cleaning chemicals.

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk and stand for prolonged periods, frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand movements. Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weight (up to 50 lbs) and operate assigned equipment. Must maintain physical ability to administer CPR in the event of a medical emergency.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
