Well-established structural and misc. metals contractor based in Daly City hiring full time due to growth. Projects include items such as stairs & rails, miscellaneous steel, structural steel. The Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing the flow of information to prepare for and assist in the execution of the project’s work. This role will schedule, plan, forecast resources and manage all the technical activities with attention to project accuracy and quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret & explain plans and contract terms.
- Coordinate logistics and procuring materials.
- Implement safety program and assist with weekly meetings.
- Generate, track and apply changes ensuring consistency across plans, specs, and submittals. Update project schedule.
- Assist, track, and log all change management documentation and implementation (issue letters, PCO’s, BIDS, RFIs).
- Track manpower, equipment and supplies compared to budget.
- Assist Superintendent with Field Management.
- Coordinate all submittals for a given project.
- Carry out shop drawings when required.
- Attend weekly subcontractor field meetings.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years experience in construction as a Project Engineer.
- Bachelor’s degree or related field, preferably in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or a Construction Management Certificate from an accredited university.
- Solid computer skills with working knowledge of AutoCAD, Construction Management Software Procore & Bluebeam as well as MS Office, including Outlook, Project, Excel and Word.
- Reads, understands and interprets construction plans, schematics, blueprints, drawings and technical manuals to determine appropriate construction methods.
- Ability to work on-site and client site within Bay Area.
