Senior Accountant

Our client, a Series D-funded advanced materials company in the semiconductor and electronics space, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing finance team.

South San Francisco, CA. This role is hybrid, with in-office expectations 3 days per week.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving accounting operations and supporting financial reporting across multiple entities.

• Act as a major contributor in the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis
• Review, investigate, and reconcile daily AP activities, including vendor wires and PO-to-invoice discrepancies
• Manage accruals and prepaid expense schedules, ensuring proper documentation and amortization
• Analyze operating expenses for classification and reporting consistency across entities
• Support process improvement initiatives and execute ad hoc projects as directed by management

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred
• 3–5+ years of combined public and private accounting experience
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Net Suite preferred)
• Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
