AboutThe Role
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8 am–4 pm. Sifted is creating a brand‑new corporate catering space in South San Francisco and needs a highly motivated Utility Lead. Your core responsibilities include receiving, organizing daily shipments, and maintaining storage areas.
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon arrival
- Unload packages, inspect for damage, and verify items against invoices (quantity, quality, price)
- Communicate with the Executive Chef or MOD for any discrepancies
- Return unsatisfactory shipments or arrange replacements
- Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated locations
- Ensure invoices are signed and filed properly
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control
- Keep all storage areas clean, organized, and replenished as needed
- Project a positive, motivated attitude toward all team members
- Proven experience as a receiving clerk or similar position
- Understanding of health and safety regulations for food service
- Basic math and recording abilities
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Attention to detail and a calm, collected demeanor
- Physical ability to stand up to 6 hours at a time and move equipment up to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or equivalent certification
- Leadership by example in all aspects of the business, including safety and sanitation standards set by the local Health Department
- Ability to work efficiently to maximize team output while minimizing labor hours
- Compensation: $27 per hour

- 80 hours of PTO per year (and paid winter break from Dec 24–Jan 1)

This position requires a California State Food Handlers Card.
Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a commercial kitchen.
