As a member of the Sales Development team, the Sales Development Associate is a development-focused role designed for sales professionals preparing for permanent geographic territory alignment.
Rather than maintaining primary ownership of a single assigned territory, the Reserve SDR undergoes rigorous sales training and job shadowing while providing agile, overflow, and interim coverage across unassigned, open, or high-volume market territories.
This is an “Offer in Advance” requisition. Applicants must meet the minimum education and experience qualifications at the time of application OR currently meet minimum experience qualifications and meet the minimum education requirements within 120 days of applying. Offers of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of these requirements before Day 1.
Essential Functions- Structured Onboarding & Learning: Participates actively in sales training programs covering company products, services, supply chain solutions, CRM systems, and data-driven selling tools.
- Peer Shadowing & Mentorship: Conducts structured job shadowing with other SMB roles to observe best practices in cold outreach, lead qualification, value proposition delivery, and opportunity handoffs.
- Joint Call Participation: Engages in joint customer calls, call cycling, and field visits with experienced team members to build practical sales competencies and industry acumen.
- Developmental Pipeline Support:In a training and support capacity, assists active SDR II territories with background research, outbound outreach, and prospective lead qualification under a secondary territory mapping framework. This position does not carry direct sales quotas, territory ownership, or incentive compensation eligibility.
- Performance Tracking & Feedback:Actively participates in regular performance coaching, call reviews, and pipeline reviews with sales leadership to accelerate readiness for permanent territory assignment.
- Other Duties:Performs other duties and special sales projects as assigned by leadership.
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent);
OR
Four (4) years of business-to-business (B2B) sales experience;
OR
One (1) year of the Company’s business-to-business (B2B) sales experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated Involvement or leadership in school, community, athletic or professional organizations. Experience working collaboratively in team based environments. B2B or high-value B2C sales experience using digital tools & CRM.High Volume Prospecting activities and/or inbound virtual customer support experience.
Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the salary information represents the job level minimum and the job level maximum. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: $26.70/hr - $32.04/hr
Additional Details: This is a customer-facing role that requires regular in person meetings. Candidates must live within a 50 mile radius of San Francisco, CA or surrounding cities within the territory.
