QA Test Engineer - SF South San Francisco

Software QA Test Engineer – Supports our Software, Database, and Systems Engineering teams by testing our proprietary Image Generator (pc‑Nova) through automated scripts and maintaining our test system. Requires Python programming expertise to maintain current setup and build new test features.

Hybrid Work: 2 days per week in‑office at the South San Francisco location, 3 days remote. Hybrid requirement may change based on familiarity with our test system infrastructure.

United States citizenship required due to restrictions on access to certain data. Eligibility to work with export‑controlled technology.

• Maintain proprietary Python code for our automated test system
• Maintain and expand Jenkins scripting to improve automated test suite
• Create new automation scripts for complex testing requirements (stress tests, performance tests, special features, etc.)
• Create and maintain an image diffing test suite
• Develop test plans and design automated tests using our proprietary test system
• Perform manual testing of new features for software releases when needed
• Communicate with other team members across time zones
• Be a resource for others learning to use our test system
• Help document our test system for internal and external users

• At least 2 years’ work experience coding in Python and C++ (or similar languages)
• At least 2 years’ experience with testing 3D graphics applications and/or content creation tools
• Solid understanding of 3D graphics concepts
• Good eye that can notice both technical and aesthetic problems with software
• Experience writing automated tests
• Strong experience using command prompts (DOS, bash, etc.)
• Experience with project management for software using Jira (or similar)
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills and tenacity to follow through
• Eligibility to work with export‑controlled technology

• Video game / 3D graphics testing experience
• Experience with flight simulation software
• Experience with VR or MR headset configuration/testing
• Experience creating image diff tests
• Experience with Jira, Perforce, Visual Studio, Jenkins, Bash, Git Hub
• Experience writing technical documentation
• Basic knowledge of 3D modeling, GIS, geospatial or geotypical content creation

$102,000 - $170,000 per year (California only). Final compensation based on candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
