SEMH English Teacher – South Shields

We’re looking for an English Teacher who can bring creativity, flexibility and warmth to pupils who’ve struggled to connect with mainstream education. Small group teaching means you’ll have time to build trust and tailor learning to each student.

Role highlights:

• Teaching English across KS3–KS4
• Breaking down content into accessible, confidence‑building steps
• Using relatable, real‑world topics to spark engagement
• Supporting pupils with behaviour, anxiety or low self‑esteem
• Collaborating with pastoral teams to provide holistic support

You’ll need:

• QTS and strong English subject knowledge
• Experience with SEMH or behaviour needs
• A positive, resilient and relationship‑based approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
